I came into Health and Social care in 2000 where I started as a support worker and in the course of the years, I have managed several services in the community and have now become a registered manager. It has been a challenging but rewarding role in seeing people achieving their goals and dreams and how I have impacted the lives of my services users and staff positively. I have impacted a lot of services with my experience and professionalism. I believe no bridge should be crossed alone. Building an efficient and effective team has been my priority, coupled with effective communication as a bedrock of providing a safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led organisation. I strongly believe that the workforce of an organisation are the greatest asset in delivering an effective and safe service, happy staff, happy service. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and family life.
I am passionate about providing critical operations performance to support informed decision making for service users. I have worked in the Health and Social Care field for over 30 years as a home manager, Quality assurance officer, Regional Director and Operation Director.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking with my lovely grandchildren and looking after my dogs and horses.
I have been a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse for more than 20 years. I became involved all those years ago almost by chance when some friends invited me to come and help out at a weekly social club for young adults with learning disabilities. I immediately felt at home and enjoyed my time becoming involved with all the participants and their families. The rest as they say ‘is history’. I completed my nurse training and for the next 20 years+, have worked in a variety of NHS and private care settings. I continue to enjoy my involvement and am passionate about helping and maintaining a very person-focused care approach within my Vivid Care role.
I was formally a Builder and a mechanical engineer. My hobbies still include building and construction, engineering, a love of all things mechanical and going on motorcycling touring holidays, often abroad. I also love completing a crossword every day.
